Simi Lichtman, LCSW
I’m a therapist who specializes in providing trauma-focused therapy to survivors of sexual abuse. I work with survivors of all genders, and have experience providing individual and group counseling to male survivors.
I provide trauma-informed therapy to adolescents and adults of all genders, primarily for survivors and perpetrators of sexual violence, as well as their loved ones. While I mainly utilize Emotion-Focused Therapy, I incorporate other forms of therapy as needed. I know that trauma does not have an expiration date, and that it affects everyone differently. That is why the emphasis of my therapy is on creating an empathic and nonjudgmental space for my clients, so that they can begin the difficult work of exploring their traumas and understanding themselves in a safe and understanding setting.
My clinical experience includes domestic violence victims, sexual violence survivors, incarcerated offenders, and LGBTQ youth, among others. I have certificates in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Violence Against Women and Children, and I have received training in sex therapy and human sexuality.
