Short Biography - excerpt
Through 25 years of work in university, hospital and outpatient settings, I have developed specializations in Trauma and Abuse, as well as Sexual and Relationship Violence. I work with adult survivors (college-age to older adults). With the therapy relationship as the foundation and guide for our work, I draw upon my training in a broad array of treatment interventions, including cognitive-behavioral tools, mindfulness, sensorimotor (mind-body) awareness, and hypnosis. I enjoy working with male survivors who, because of socialization and the particular stigmas associated with the abuse of boys and men, often have stayed numb and stuck for years. It is amazing to watch male survivors find their voices and feelings and make significant changes that improve how they function in their relationships and in work.
