Chris Warren-Dickins, Licensed Professional Counselor
I am licensed in New Jersey as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and I offer counseling and psychotherapy in downtown Ridgewood, Bergen County, New Jersey. Online therapy is also available. For a number of years, I have worked with clients on a wide range of issues including abuse, anxiety, anger management, couples counseling, depression, family dynamics, gender and sexuality issues (working in an LGBTQ affirmative manner), men’s issues, and trauma.
I will work with you to find the right approach, depending on your preference, and depending on the issues you would like to explore. In addition to traditional talking therapy, I can also offer EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy). This is an approach used to help people heal from distressing experiences.
Before setting up practice in New Jersey, I ran a private psychotherapy practice in London (United Kingdom) for a number of years. I was on the Survivors UK approved list of national therapists who specialize in working with survivors of sexual violence, and I worked at London Friend, an LGBTQ counseling charity, the student psychological service at a central London university, and the counseling service at a central London school. Before qualifying as a psychotherapist, I practiced as a lawyer, and taught law (at post-graduate level), in the United Kingdom.
